ubnas is an independent publication about network-attached storage (NAS), self-hosting and homelabs. We help people take back control of their data — choosing the right NAS, running self-hosted apps like Jellyfin, Immich and Nextcloud, protecting everything with sensible backups, and building a homelab that actually fits their needs and budget.

How we work

Hands-on, not hand-wavy. Our buying guides and reviews are grounded in real-world testing — transcoding, power draw, noise, setup friction — not spec-sheet copying.
Independent. We're not owned by a NAS vendor. When we recommend something, it's because it earned its place.
Practical. Every guide takes you from "which one do I buy?" or "how do I set this up?" to a working result, without the fluff.
